(Feb. 22, 2015) – A pair of partnerships highlighted this week in Boston Breakers news, a week that also featured three Breakers getting a call-up to respective national teams.
Early in the week, the Breakers announced the signing of Steward Health Care System (Steward) as the exclusive title sponsor of the Breakers for the 2015, 2016, and 2017 seasons. Steward is the largest community-based health care network in Massachusetts. In addition to serving as the exclusive title sponsor, Steward St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center of Boston has been named the official hospital of the Boston Breakers and will also serve as the official athletic training and physical therapy partner and official MRI and imaging provider of the Boston Breakers. The next partnership came just two days later, and it was an historic one at that. The Breakers partnered with the Florida Elite Soccer Academy to be their professional affiliate.
“We are very pleased to be the affiliation of the Florida Elite Soccer Academy,” Boston Breakers General Manager Lee Billiard said. “The people running the program in Florida are very experienced people, building something special. For us to have the Boston Breakers brand and the NWSL brand in a new national market is important for our growth, and the recognition of the women’s league. We are excited and honored to be the affiliate of the Florida Elite Soccer Academy”
The goals of the partnership are to provide for all Florida Elite Soccer Academy players the opportunity to associate with the Boston Breakers, to promote positive public participation in and awareness of the sport by educating and involving players, parents, and coaches along with providing a development pathway to Boston Breakers senior programs.
