(June 21, 2017) – The Boston Breakers announced today the signing of goalkeeper Libby Stout. Per team and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Stout is a goalkeeper replacement for Abby Smith, who is sidelined after receiving a platelet rich plasma injection in her right knee.
The 27-year-old from Louisville, Ky., who was waived back on May 10, 2017, initially joined the Breakers on Nov. 23, 2015, signing as a Discovery Player after spending two years at Liverpool LFC.
In one season with the Breakers – 2016 – Stout started nine of the 10 games she appeared in, leading the team in saves (42). She finished with 2.10 goals against average.
