(July 1, 2016) - The Boston Breakers continue their streak of away games this weekend as they look to improve on their record in the second match of the season against Seattle Reign FC. The two teams meet Saturday night at Memorial Stadium (10 p.m. ET kickoff) in Seattle.

The Breakers are returning from a hard loss against the Western New York Flash last Friday and will hope to have a better result on the West Coast this weekend. In a tough, 7-1 defeat to the Flash (6-4-0), Boston showed well in the first half with newcomer Christen Westphal scoring her first professional goal. The Breakers hoped to capitalize on the close match, however, the Flash scored three goals by the end of the half to take a 5-1 lead into the final 45 minutes.

Going to Seattle, the Breakers are looking to earn points against a 3-3-4 Seattle Reign side. This will be the second time this season the Breakers have faced Seattle, losing to the Reign, 3-0, at home in April. In that early season match, Boston fell down, 2-0, in the first half, but then proved they were able to stay tight defensively while creating offensive promise as they ended the game with more shots than the visitors.

“It’s going to be a tough game,” Boston Breakers head coach Matt Beard said. “I know Laura (Harvey) really well and how her teams like to play, so I may have a little advantage, but we have to respond in a positive way. We have to get back to what we did in the first five games. (We have to be) a bit more aggressive, a bit more compact. I hope we can put (Western New York) behind us and use it as motivation to kickstart our season and do better.”

Seattle is returning home from a 0-0 draw with FC Kansas City last Saturday, extending its four-game unbeaten streak as well as a fourth clean sheet for the Reign.

The Breakers continue with another away game. It takes place Sunday, July 10, at the Orlando Citrus Bowl against the expansion Orlando Pride. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. ET. Boston will then return home to play Sky Blue FC on Sunday, July 17, at 5 p.m. ET. Tickets can be purchased by calling 617-945-1704 or by visiting breakerstickets.com
