(June 28, 2017) – Boston Breakers midfielder Amanda Da Costa has been named to Portugal’s roster and forward Emilie Haavi has been tabbed by Norway for the upcoming UEFA Women’s European Championship 2017 in The Netherlands.
Da Costa is currently training with Portugal, while Haavi heads to Europe following Saturday’s game against the Washington Spirit.
Debuting on Dec. 1, 2015 against Spain in the Women’s EURO 2017 qualifiers, Da Costa helped lead Portugal to the final stages of the 2017 UEFA Women’s European Championship. She participated in the 2016 Algarve Cup with Portugal.
Haavi, who has 59 caps and 15 goals with Norway, has represented Norway at the 2011 and 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup. At the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, she scored the game-winning goal against Equatorial Guinea in the group stage, Haavi debuted debut for Norway in 2010 against Canada.
Norway opens up the EURO 2017 tournament on July 16 against The Netherlands in Group A, while Portugal takes on Spain on July 19 in Group D.
This season with the Breakers Haavi has played in four games, logging 320 minutes, and Da Costa has played 248 minutes in eight games.
