(Jan. 30, 2017) – The Boston Breakers announced today the signing of Canadian forward Adriana Leon, pending receipt of her P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC). Per team and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In the two seasons prior with the Chicago Red Stars, Leon scored a combined two goals and added three assists in 25 games, 19 of which she started. Leon made her NWSL debut with the Boston Breakers in 2013, scoring one goal in six games.
“Adriana is keen to come back to Boston and prove herself back in the NWSL and also to get back into the Canadian Women’s National Team,” Boston Breakers head coach Matt Beard said. “For me, I was impressed with her form in Switzerland and her attitude during our talks. She also provides good flexibility in the front line. I'm excited to have her on board.”
Leon has 38 caps and five goals with the Canadian Women’s National Team. At 17 years old, Leon made her debut in the youth national team system. She helped Canada finish fourth at the 2010 CONCACAF Women's Under-20 Championship in Guatemala. She also represented Canada at the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Japan.
At 20 years old, she made her debut for the senior team, scoring on Jan. 12, 2013 in a win over China. Leon competed with Canada at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
