Boston Breakers Announce 2012 WPSL Elite League Schedule

Open season May 10 at Chesapeake Charge

The quest for the 2012 WPSL Elite League championships begins in May. The Boston Breakers will kick off their inaugural 2012 WPSL Elite League season on Thursday, May 10, 2012, taking on ASA Chesapeake Charge in Maryland.

The Breakers return to Boston a week later for their home opener, and it will be quite a matchup as FC Indiana comes to town. Led by Haiti Women’s National Team Coach Shek Borkowski, FC Indiana has made a name for itself over the years in the WPSL (champions in 2005 and 2007) and in the W-League. On May 18, they’ll be Boston’s first test on the Breakers’ home turf at Dilboy Stadium in Somerville.

On May 26, the Breakers finally get a chance to exact revenge on of their former WPS rivals, the 2011 WPS champions Western New York Flash. The game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start. Other key dates include: Sunday, June 3 when the Breakers meet up with former WPS club, the Chicago Red Stars on the road and Wednesday, June 20. That’s when Boston hosts interstate opponent - the New England Mutiny.
