Thomas Gill, MD

Dr. Thomas Gill, a board certified orthopedic surgeon, is the team physician for the Boston Breakers and the Boston Cannons. In addition to treating sports medicine injuries, Dr. Gill specializes in ACL surgery/knee arthroscopy, rotator cuff surgery and labral repair surgery. Dr. Gill completed a fellowship in Reconstructive Surgery in Bern, Switzerland, and one in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery at the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic, Vail, Colo. He received his medical education at Harvard Medical School and has authored more than 160 scientific articles and chapters on issues involving the knee and shoulder, and has written books on Complications of Shoulder Surgery and Techniques of Knee Arthroscopy. Dr. Gill has served as Medical Director for the Boston Red Sox, Head Team Physician for the New England Patriots, and Team Physician for the Boston Bruins. He is a fellow of the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons; a member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine; former member of the Team Physician Societies of Major League Baseball, the National Football League, and the National Hockey League; and was elected to the Herodicus Society (National Honor Society for Sports Medicine) and the American Orthopedic Association.

Danielle Karlin, a Board Certified Athletic Trainer, was named the Head Athletic Trainer for the Boston Breakers in April 2016. Danielle graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from the Sargent College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences, where she worked with multiple sports teams ranging from high school to Division 1 athletics. Throughout the Breakers season, Danielle is responsible for day-to-day medical needs, which includes acute care, treatment, and rehabilitation. She works in conjunction with Dr. Thomas Gill and Dr. Janine Pardo to ensure the best care. Danielle has created and developed ACL prevention programs and return-to-play protocols specifically focusing on women's athletics. Her experiences with elite athletes allows her to recognize dysfunctions in athletes before they occur. Danielle has previously worked as an assistant strength and conditioning coach during the offseason. Danielle is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

 
 
J. Alex McKinney, MS, PT, CSCS, LMT, A.R.T.
Alex is a Physical Therapist, Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, Licensed Massage Therapist and Certified in Active Release Technique and Trigger Point Dry Needling.  He is the owner and Director of Services for Marathon Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine with nine clinic locations around the Boston and South Shore area.  He specializes in Orthopedics, Manual Therapy, and Sports Medicine and has vast experience working with professional and olympic athletes.  He received his Physical Therapy training at the Medical College of Virginia and is a frequent contributor to publications on the assessment and treatment of runners, triathletes and endurance athletes.  He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.  He can be reached at jamckinney@MarathonPhysicalTherapy.com
 
 
 

Dr. Andreea Toader, DC

Dr. Andreea Toader is a sports chiropractic physician specializing in the diagnosis and management of soft tissue and neuromusculoskeletal injuries. As a Canadian native, she earned her Honors Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. She went on to pursue a chiropractic degree and graduated Summa Cum Laude from New York Chiropractic College. She spent the majority of her clinical tenure in an MD/DC chronic pain clinic where she managed individuals with unique and complex neurological conditions. Dr. Toader employs a variety of manual therapies such as FAKTR® and Graston® with the goal of restoring mobility and promoting proper joint biomechanics. Patient empowerment is the ultimate goal of her care as she strives to educate her patients on taking on health initiatives, which both supplement her treatments and provide sustained relief. She is passionate about working with athletes and is currently providing chiropractic services to the Boston Breakers as well as Boston University's Track and Field Team. Christopher O'Brien, DPT

Dr. Christopher O'Brien is a physical therapist with clinical interests in orthopedics and sports medicine. He completed both his undergraduate and graduate degrees through Northeastern University in Boston, MA with honors. Throughout his eight-year career, he has obtained certification) in Trigger Point Dry Needling, Kinesiotaping, and is an ImPACT Trained Physical Therapist and has focused continuing education on PRI, FMS, SFMA, and lower extremity injury prevention programming for athletes. Dr. O'Brien works at Marathon Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine, located throughout the Greater Boston Area and holds hours in both the Newton and Dedham locations. Janine Pardo, MD

Dr. Janine Pardo is a Board Certified Internist and Primary Care Physician.  She is the Medical Director of Steward Medical Group – Weston Internal Medicine and Wellness Center located in Weston, MA.  She is also the medical team physician for the Boston Cannons, professional lacrosse  team, in addition to the Boston Breakers.

Dr. Pardo graduated with honors from Princeton University, and went on to attend the University of Louisville School of Medicine.  She completed her residency in New York City at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center – a teaching hospital of Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons.  She remained in New York to practice Medicine at one of Manhattan’s largest and most highly regarded multispecialty offices, until she and her family relocated to the Boston area.  At her current practice Dr. Pardo provides cutting-edge, personalized primary care by working with individuals to customize treatment and prevention plans based on each patient’s unique characteristics, personal history, and family background.  Dr. Pardo is a wellness expert with significant expertise in nutrition, stress management, meditation, exercise counseling, yoga, sleep management, cancer risk modification, cardiovascular disease prevention, and preventive medicine.  She applies this knowledge to advocate a comprehensive approach to patient care focused on total mental and physical well-being including emphasis on lifestyle modifications.


 

Sara Morrissey, D.C.

Dr. Sara Morrissey is a Chiropractic physician who specializes in the treatment of sports and neuromusculoskeletal injuries. She obtained her B.A. with honors in Kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario, where she had the privilege of serving on the Sports Medicine Team who cared for the Varsity Women’s Rugby Team. She then earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic at New York Chiropractic College, graduating with honors as a member of the Phi Chi Omega honor society. Her post-doctoral studies includes training in the fields of women’s health, nutrition, the chiropractic management of pregnancy, and functional soft tissue and rehabilitation. Dr. Morrissey is a physician with Khalsa Chiropractic Office, which has multiple locations in Boston and the surrounding areas.
